Job Description
The Host/Hostess is a key position for our guests first and last impression. Host/Hostesses will greet guests as they walk into the restaurant in a warm, welcoming and timely manner. The Host/Hostess will also oversee assigning tables to dining room team according to managements specs. Host/Hostesses will accompany guests to their tables while engaging in a natural conversation. They must pull out chairs when seating a guest and place napkins on guests’ lap. The Host/Hostess must manage ALL reservations and waiting list with the support/assistance from management and communicate with dining team about new guests in their section. Host/Hostess must be available to support server assistants (if needed) in clearing and resetting tables. Host/Hostesses will have an individual list of opening, running and closing duties that they are responsible for every shift.

Qualifications
· Must be at least 16 years old
· Prior customer service experience in the hospitality industry is a plus
· Upbeat Positive attitude with natural social skills
· Great and effective communication abilities
· Proper phone etiquette
· Schedule flexibility is a plus
· Ability to walk and stand for up to 8 hours at a time
· Ability to lift to 10-15 pounds
· Excellent organizational skills and cleanliness
· Past experience with “Open Table” is a plus
· Availability to work evenings and on weekends, including holidays
· Must show and maintain a neat and clean appearance, following company guidelines.
Responsibilities:
· Attending pre-shift and general meetings to be up to date on day to day changes and topics of importance for the day.
· Welcome incoming guests warmly with a genuine smile and eye contact; escort them to assigned table; present Cocktail menus (1 per two guests) and wine list upon request.
· Address guests by name at least twice throughout your time with Guests, once as a welcome, again during the journey and farewell.
· If guest information is not provided, input as much guest info into the system as possible.
· Provide server with Open Table cheat sheet directly after seating guest.
· Answer all incoming calls to the restaurant, providing proper phone etiquette while prioritizing guests at the door.
· Provide accurate wait times to all incoming guests when appropriate.
· Be accommodating to guests’ special needs and requests.
· Maintain a clean and organized appearance in and around the Host area and front door.
· Help dining room team by setting and clearing tables when business demands are high.
· Properly redirect to-go orders to management team.
· Attain guests’ info from Servers/Bartenders/Management after their dining experience to input into Open Table for future reference.
