About the Role
A Server Assistant / Busser is a key component to a proper elevated dining experience and is the main support for all Server and Bartenders in the restaurant. Server Assistants / Bussers are responsible for, but not limited to, food running, pre-bussing, bussing, manicuring and resetting tables in your section while assisting the server in the guests’ needs. This position is an amazing opportunity to educate yourself and prepare for other roles in our restaurant. Ultimately, you will ensure our daily operations run smoothly and our guests have a pleasant and warm dining experience.
Requirements
Qualifications
· Must be at least 16 years old
· Prior customer service experience in the hospitality industry is a plus
· Wine, beer and spirits knowledge is a plus
· Upbeat Positive attitude and natural social skills
· Great and effective communication abilities
· Must have a keen eye for details (360 degree vision)
· Schedule flexibility is a plus
· Ability to walk and stand for up to 8 hours at a time
· Ability to lift to 35-50 pounds
· Must be able to multi-task effectively while maintaining composure
· Availability to work evenings and on weekends, including holidays
· Must show and maintain a neat and clean appearance, following company guidelines.
· Excellent organizational skills and cleanliness
Responsibilities
· Attending pre-shift and general meetings to be up to date on day to day changes and topics of importance for the day.
· Be the main support/assistance for the Servers and Bartenders.
· Must remain focused and on task throughout the entire shift.
· Apply 5/10 rule to all incoming and departing guests in our restaurant by name if information is provided.
· Understand and know how to respond to guests’ needs or requests.
· Ensure our restaurant is clean and up to our standards before, throughout and after the shift.
· Before, during and after service, make sure all tables are properly set up to specifications.
· Maintain a clean overall appearance of our restaurant, including but not limited to, guest restrooms, patio, entry way, dining areas, bar etc.
· Assist Servers and Bartenders in pre-bussing, bussing and manicuring all tables and bar seats in a neat and timely manner.
· Assist in running and delivering food properly to each guests.
· Perform and complete all opening, running and closing sidework duties.
